We have the good fortune to be led by a pair of talented professional musicians with a wide range of skills and experience.
Andrew is an accomplished musician on both piano and organ. Andrew has been organist and director of music at St. Andrew’s parish church, Wigan since 1991 , having been the assistant organist for 9 years previously.
He took lessons from his predecessor Roy Taylor FTCL, LRAM and took ABRSM exams in piano, theory and organ to grade 8. He continued his organ studies with Darius Battiwalla, RNCM (Leeds city organist) and with Ian Wells at Liverpool Anglican cathedral.
Andrew was the accompanist to the Wigan Cecilian choral society from 1982 to 1998, and accompanist to the Aughton Male Voice Choir from December 2011 to October 2013 when he became the Musical Director. Andrew is the Manager of Rimmers music store in Southport and continues to be busy with teaching and playing for weddings and functions around the northwest.
Joanne Fairclough teaches private music lessons, daytime and evening to children and adults. Her JFMusic School is a Learning destination for the Children’s University Passport for Learning. The students have the option of learning piano, keyboard or singing and examinations are optional. She is also the musical director of the Consolette Choir in Burscough, Lancashire.
Whilst completing her Full time Graduate Diploma in Music, Joanne covered options in Piano, Voice, Education and Commercial Styles. She also has a Post Graduate Certificate in Education in Secondary Music.
Her experience as an accompanist began in the 1970’s working for a ballet and tap school. Since than she has been an accompanist for dramatic societies, choirs, instrumentalists and singers for performances and examinations.
